Apples to Apples is a great family game if the kids are 12 and older and it’s fun to play at a party. The box includes 2 different kinds of cards. Category cards and item cards. There a lot more item cards than there are category ones. The category cards are usually adjectives like gross, funny, cute, etc.
The rules are:
Each player has a series of item cards. You really don’t have to be specific as to how many cards you have but as long as everyone has the same amount at all times you’re good.
Once per turn, a player picks up a category card and shows it to the group.
Each player must pick a card out of their hand that best describes the category or is most funniest with the category and gives it the player who turned over the category card.
Once the player who turned the category card has all the other player’s cards, he turns them all over and reads them all out loud. Then that player picks the card he likes best or fits the card best. There are no rules as to why you picked the card.
The player who’s card was picked as the best one wins the category card.
Anyways, to make a long story short, you just continue playing the game over and over and at the end, the player with the most category cards wins!
It’s hilarious and I love playing this game with friends.
10 out of 10 on the games scale.
