Connected Once Again.

Having no internet sucks. So the thought of moving and finding a new internet company seemed like a huge hassle. So I thought: ‘Hey, I kinda like the package that I’m using right now, I’ll just call them and tell them I want it transferred to the new location.’

It sounds dandy, but in reality it was horrible. We waited an entirety of 3 whole days for the dumbos to come install our internet but no one showed up, no one called to tell us why either. After the third stand up, enough was enough. I thanked them for their service but would not be needing it after all, called up the nearest provider that I knew was reliable and ended up getting an even better package than before. Nothing beats that!

So now I have the internet again which means I finally can get back to netflix! And cross stitching, seeing as all my patterns are online. Also video games! And buzzfeed oh and I listen to all my music on youtube so I get that back too! No more screaming heavy metal. yay.

To be completely honest though, it was kind of nice to not have any internet. I don’t want to seem rude but we were completely oblivious to what was happening out in the world. And it seems a lot had happened, horrible and tragic events that I’m sad about, but had no idea about without the internet.

Being disconnected made me want to lead a super simple life. It made me want to cook meals and try my hand at a little baking. It made me physically go to the movie store to rent some movies. It felt good to not be glued to a device or computer because I will admit, I use those a lot. It was also nice to not be constantly reminded of everyone’s birthdays on facebook.

I think everyone should take the time to unplug their phones, pick up an old book that you loved or maybe that guitar you’ve always wanted to get good at but never put the time and the effort into it. Take up that old hobby or passion and do it! It’s those types of things in your life that will give you the most joy, not watching someone else do it on youtube. Or look at the wonderful things other people have done on instagram.

There’s a whole world out there for you to explore, right out your doorstep. (And no, that doesn’t mean by catching them all through pokemon go. Though you could catch a few along the way…)

That felt deep.

Get yourself together woman.

So remember my little post a few weeks ago about 2015? Well as predicted I didn’t post so often after that. I am however trying to get myself on some kind of schedule because I feel somewhat caught in a storm right now. I feel like regular posting will help keep my thoughts in order.

You may have also read my older post about finding a new teen series to read. Well, I gave up that challenge because it requires too much buying. I can’t afford books anymore. Well at least not like I used to… I have a car now. Cars are expensive btw. (don’t get one unless you need one kids)

So I’m limiting myself on how much I can spend per month on books in order to actually afford my bills which seem to be drowning me lately. Instead I’ve tackled the impossible challenge of trying to read as many books that I already OWN as possible.

Pretty much my entire bookshelf sitting right in front of me is full of books that I have never read. Story of every book lover’s life right? I mean come on, new books come out every single week. It’s impossible to keep up with the flow.

Here’s a little story about my good deed of the year so far. 😀

So this little boy came to my work and asked if we had any Pokemon cards for sale. Unfortunately we didn’t. (If so that would have been awesome for me) His parents proceeded to tell me that someone at school had stolen their son’s binder full of Pokemon cards. I felt so bad for the poor guy. He was in grade one so you can imagine how small he was. Anyways, I decided to ask for the parent’s phone numbers and told them that that I just happened to be a Pokemon card collector myself. I promised to go through my cards and give him some that I wouldn’t be needing anymore. I made him some little homemade card packs and customized a new binder with card slots in it so he could rebuild his collection again! It was the least I could do for a fellow Pokemon master 😛IMG_20150122_100659[1]

It feels good to do good things for people! Have you done a good deed this year yet?

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS

super smash bros 3dsIt’s been over a year and I’m a little embarrassed. I play video games regularly, like literally every single day and I don’t know why, but I guess I kind of forgot to keep posting reviews on either new games or old games that I’ve been playing.

Here’s one of the most recent games I have added to my collection. The hype on Reddit for this game was incredible so I was at the game store on its release date. Gotta hop on that wagon right?

Nintendo never disappoints me. Super Smash Bros has always been an incredible game to play, I have the GameCube edition as well as the Wii edition. When I heard they were making the game available for the 3DS I was a little skeptical.

I’ve always used a GameCube controller for both Super Smash Bros. games so I thought I would have a hard time getting used to the 3DS controls. In truth, it wasn’t that bad actually. Like any new game, I’m always quite rusty for the first few rounds and I do stupid mistakes, like forget which character I am and casually walk off the map…

Anyways, I actually really enjoy the 3DS edition. The new maps are amazing and the characters moves are really neat. Not to mention all the new ones they added. Like the new Pokemon, Wii fit trainer, etc.

My sister disagrees with me though, she didn’t like using the 3DS at all. Ah well, to each their own I guess. I personally think they did a great job transitioning it to a handheld device.

Great Game!

I am proud to announce my first ever goal to be completed in 2014. I finished rearranging all of my Pokémon cards. It was extemely time consuming but here are some photos of the progress…

I have about 75 percent of all the cards and now that the new x and y series came out I have started getting those too. I am proud to say that I have finished my original 151 cards and am now starting to finish the 2nd generation… ( I’m only missing 13 cards). It’s a fun hobby and I love going through all the artwork. Eventually, I plan on making short posts about certain cards I would like to share with all of you!!
I’m only being me!!

I swear, I’m not dead yet.

First of all I would like to apologize. I keep saying that I’ll post more often and that I’ll have interesting things to say… but that never really happened yet eh? (Yes i’m Canadian)

Welp, not much has happened since the last post. I still plan on going home at the end of April. I have failed to continue posting at a regular time or even anything at all. I try though. I got the WordPress app on my phone so maybe I’ll be able to upload some more stuff. I don’t even take pictures with my camera anymore so my posts have been awkwardly photo-less. A photo-less post is not as exciting as a photo-bearing post.

I am going to say this though, I started a new year’s thing. I have made a bunch of goals that I want to accomplish in 2014 and with each completed goal, I have a reward that I shall give myself. I thought it would be a good idea to document my progress on here. 😀 Show all of you lovely people what the heck I’m doing with my life because sometimes it must seem like I don’t do much.

DSC02077 I’ve been sorting out my Pokémon cards. ALL OF THEM. I probably have a good 3000 cards now. It’s my most prized collection. DSC02078 I always had a hard time deciding how I wanted to organize them in the binder. I usually ended up either putting them by type or by HP level. I soon realized that was a pretty useless idea seeing as I kept getting new cards which meant that I constantly had to reorganize them. That’s why I went with the idea of finally putting them by their Pokédex entries. I’m pretty impressed with my collection. After counting each Pokémon (and leaving spaces for the ones I am missing…) I am only missing 28% of all 6 generation Pokémons. That means a little over 200 cards. *Pats myself on back* DSC02079 I started knitting… Sorry for the sideways image. I thought that knitting would be a cool new hobby. I think I did pretty well without help from my mémé. (Please ignore the extra stitch, I don’t know how it got there, as well as the multiple holes) Btw, it’s going to be a scarf, if you couldn’t already tell…DSC02080

I also recently discovered how to download Pokémon on my phone!!! So exciting. Now I can take my little friends EVERYWHERE. (I haven’t beaten the first gym yet, haha)

So there you have it. Not a bad little update if I do say so myself.  I’ll keep y’all updated with how things are going or if I complete any goals and stuff.  HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY GUYS!

My pokémon party. (cute)

DSC01569You might not already know, but I love pokemon. Just last night, I sat down on my floor in my dorm room, took out all of my pokemon cards and decided which ones I liked best to put into a new little holder for them, I will be posting them soon enough. For you guys today, I wanted to show you my perfect pokemon party in terms of my favorite pokemon and not the strongest.

First on my list would be Ninetails. This is a beautiful pokemon. It looks like a dog with nine tails. Hence the name. Not only does this pokemon look like a dog, it’s also a beautiful pokemon that looks majestic and poised. I always liked Ninetails and I could never seem to catch one in the wild while playing the pokemon games.

The second pokémon on my list is Charmander. Charmander is my desktop background right now. I mean look at this guy, he’s a cute little burning lizard! 😀 Charmander evolvs into Charizard and everyone knows that Charizard is boss. I would rather my Charmander get as strong as Charizard because then he could  be cute, AND strong.

The Eevee evolutions are my favorite pokémon but I can’t just have a party with Eevee evolutions so I only picked two of my favorite. Leafeon is the grass type Eevee evolution and it looks like it has leaves for ears, fur and tail. It’s so pretty.
espeonThe other Eevee evolution I like is Espeon. Firstly, because the pokémon is purple. Secondly, because it’s cute and looks graceful. I find the look of this pokémon to be very feminine. There aren’t really any reasons NOT to want this pokémon in your party. I mean look at it!

Lopunny is the most stylish/fashionable pokémon out there in my opinion. It’s fur makes it look like a superstar. Which is probably one of the only reasons why I like it other than the fact that it’s a bunny and bunnies are cute.

skittyAnd Skitty. The cute little skitty with the random needles in its tail. (I know they aren’t needled but they look like it) I like Skitty because it’s name is very adorable to pronounce and it just looks so cute, all the time.

Looking at my pokemon party now, I realise that it would be useless in many battles. Especially big strong ones. I’m sure I could make these guys strong but they aren’t very intimidating and just don’t seem to be the fighting type. (Other than like Charmander and maybe Ninetails) I have decided that I would use this party as a pokémon contest party. They would probably win every cute contest ever haha.

Hope you enjoyed, maybe I’ll post other parties that I would use in other circumstances? Who knows 🙂
