Interview no.2 with Natalie LeBlanc

Good to have you back Natalie, how have you been lately?I’m fine, if you ignore all the bills, unbearable heat and the fact that my phone is broken…

Bah, that’s life right? Your phone is broken that sucks what happened? It won’t work anymore! The screen is broken… It started going all wonky and I knew it was going to happen. I just didn’t want to believe it so I pretended like it was going to fix itself. Honestly, I think I’m the reason why it broke in the first place. I was addicted to this game called Tap Titans. Seriously don’t download, it you’ll just waste your life away on that game… So addicting!

So you were playing an app and it broke your phone? Essentially yes, the phone kept overheating until it shut down! So I’m almost 100% sure that’s the reason why it broke. You know, I should have probably stopped playing it, but I had to level up, always had to level up.

How are you surviving without a phone? It’s been hard, not gonna lie. I don’t have my usual ‘Super Mario Underwater Theme’ ringtone to wake me up so I feel totally out of it all the time. Plus, now I need to write things down and carry an actual day planner. Haha just kidding, I think the hardest part is just not being able to communicate with friends and family. Oh and the instagrams! I need me the instagrams!!!

Sounds tough, what are you going to do? Well, my current phone plan is supposed to be done this October so I was thinking of switching companies. Because let’s be honest, who is ever satisfied with their current phone service… But as I’ve been looking around I’m not finding anything better than what I already have. And if I do find something else,  I’ll find something I won’t like about them either so I’ll probably just stay with what I have.

Anything else we should know about before we rap this up? Not really, I’m doing well, finally made some friends and I know my way around the area a little more. I almost got a dog, but that didn’t work out, so now I’m setting up all of the YouTube stuff and I’ll be ready to record and post sometime this week hopefully!

Almost got a dog? What happened? Yeah, I had found the cutest little thing online and I got really excited over it until it turned out to be a scam. Those cruel meanies.

Aww, that’s a shame. But YouTube you said? Finally starting that up? Yes ma’am! New computer is set up, new mic is ready to go. Just need to do a little filming and editing and we should be golden.

Well thank you so much for your time and hope everything goes well! Thank you for having me, though I feel a little crazy talking to myself once again.

Michelle Phan, you are an inspiration to all!

I’ve been following Michelle Phan on Youtube for a long time now. She has been an inspiration for me from the moment I first watched one of her makeup tutorials. She is honestly one of the most beautiful people you will ever know inside and out, even if you don’t know her personally. Every young girl out there needs to watch her videos, because she has so much to teach everyone. Oh, and did I mention that she is an amazing makeup artist?

Amazing start on my journey!

If you didn’t know, I finished my exams last week on the 16th. I am proud to say that I am officially done my first semester of my first year of university.

Let me do a quick recap for you:

Firstly, I came to Ottawa from a very small town… (You can see how that may have been a challenge for me. This university alone has almost half the amount of people in my entire province… It made me realize how small of a speck I am to the world. (Though I am a speck that shines pretty bright)

Secondly, now that I am in a city, I have seen the band Walk Off the Earth and they are amazing so I was pretty excited to have seen them live! I also have a job, it’s in one of the biggest bookstores in Canada and we have many book signings and it’s a crazy environment to work in. I like it though, challenging, yet satisfying.

Thirdly, I’m now really good at taking the city bus! I know how to get around and if I’m lost, I can easily turn on my data or just ask for help. (did I mention I got a new phone? Pretty happy about that one… 😀 )

I was in a french major and music minor but I realized that that was a huge mistake, so I dropped my music class and changed my minor to an English minor. YAY for common sense.!

During my first semester, I took a Latin class and I can kind of say that I know the basics of Latin and I learned a lot. I am also learning Italian on my own spare time and plan on starting to learn some Japanese as well. If you haven’t already guessed, I have a passion for words. Anything that includes letters or speaking, I love it.

Latin skills:  Tua patria laudo. (I praise your country)

Italian skills (much better than Latin in my opinion) : La donna mangia una mela. (The woman eats an apple)

Sooner or later I’ll be a language master, not as awesome as a pokemon but meh, who said I can’t be both 🙂

I’M DONE MY FIRST SEMESTER OF UNIVERSITY!!

So now I’m on holiday break… Everyone else left the residence. There is only me left on my floor. It is kind of sad. I’ll be here until the 23rd, then I’m going to a friend’s apartment because they kick me out of rez for a week.

I basically only have work to worry about. Almost done Christmas shopping!

Phiew, I always seem to have so much to say.

Anyways, I’m a little lonely here but that’s ok, I have the internets, my books, my writing, anime and youtube. 🙂 as well as knitting.

I gotta step up my game.

If you guys haven’t noticed, I haven’t been doing much posting anymore.

Here’s the catch. University is a handful and I’m not talking just the studying. You have your whole social life as well as school work. I’ve met some amazing people here in University. Everyone from my floor is so awesome and supportive and we do a lot together. I don’t know what I would have done these last couple of weeks without them. We’ve had good laughs as well as some feel good crying moments.

I’m having so much fun here. There is just so much to do compared to my little home town. The mall is a 10 minute walk away, I can get basically anywhere with the bus.  I am also learning how tough it is to keep up good grades in university. I’ll be honest, I am not doing perfectly (no one should) but I wish I was doing a little bit better than where I am at the moment. I’m trying the best I can and that’s all I can do, right?

All of the social and academic stuff aside, I have also been doing a lot of thinking. Mostly about what I wanted to do with my life and if I was making the right choices.

1st major change: I have decided to switch my minor in music for a minor in English. I’ve realized that music classes here are intense and not really for me.

2nd major change: I don’t play video games that much anymore. I do on my spare time but not often. I decided to not do the whole Youtube thing. Yeah it was cool and fun, but it drained a lot of my spare time that I could have used to study.

3rd major change: I really want to finish writing my book so I am really trying to sit down and just keep on writing. I have all the ideas, it’s just taking the time to actually write them all down that’s taking a bit of convincing.

…sigh… Big changes eh?

I also have some very exciting announcements to make:

1. I have the new Pokémon game and I am almost done of it.

2. I am almost done Christmas shopping for Adam, my sister and my mom.

3. I HAVE A NEW PHONE!!! So now I’m on Snapchat and Instagram and I’m just so excited about it.  (To make a long story short, I was having many difficulties getting a new phone and this fairy god mother basically gave me a brand new Google Nexus 4 for free with a case and all I had to pay for was the 65 dollar warranty which is NOTHING!

PHIEW! That was a mouthful (wordfull).

Now you know what’s going on with my life.

Here are some more words of knowledge:

Pinterest will take over your life so beware if you are using it during class…

Do the best you can. If you get a bad note, study harder and always give your 100%. The only way you truly fail, in my opinion, is if you don’t try.

Mario Kart 64 for N64

Mario Kart 64 for N64I am pretty sure that this is the second Mario Kart game ever released. The first was for SNES. In this game, they developed all of the different tracks to have a specific theme. There was one for Donkey Kong, Princess Peach, Mario, etc.

You could chose between a pretty small selection of characters and either play on one track or do a circuit (4 tracks and a grand winner at the end).

There are some pretty cool cheats in this game too.

You can look them up on youtube and challenge your friends and then amaze them with your mad skills at winning everytime!

For this game, I will be giving it a 6 out of 10 because there are new mario kart games and they are so much better. Also, you can’t play as many characters which is boring sometimes.
